Specimen Collection and Handling

Collection Container/Tube: Preferred: Lithium Heparin Light Green top tube.

Acceptable: SST tube. Tubes should be centrifuged and plasma/serum placed in an aliquot tube for shipping.

Specimen Volume: Minimum 0.5 mL

Transport: Ambient Call Syracuse courier for a STAT pick up.

Send outs: Fill out Syracuse requisition and print a face sheet to bag with the specimen.
