Material or fluid from any body site with a minimum of 1 mL for fluids
- Use Copan ESwab 480C for swab specimens
- Copan 482C swab with smaller flexible tip is also available on request by contacting Laboratory at 315-917-8199
- Must be sent to Lab within 24 hours of collection
MVHS staff: Refer to Eswab Collection Instructions For Microbiology Culture Testing LAI 2311 in Policystat for further instruction
Storage
Store and transport at room temperature for sterile sites and refrigerated for nonsterile sites. Each specimen should be in an individual bag
