Collect mint green top lithium heparin plasma separator tube (PST), gold top serum separator tube (SST), or red top (serum).
Avoid hemolyzed samples due to high AST levels found in red blood cells.Storage
Serum and plasma are stable for 7 days at 2-8 °C, and 30 days at less than or equal to -20 °C.
